A Typical Day in the Life:
As a senior assurance manager, you will oversee the engagement and workflow of all deliverables for multiple clients and engagements, including audits, reviews and compilations. You will review engagement workpapers and related deliverables to ensure that firm and professional standards are met. Additionally, this position is responsible for building and maintaining relationships with clients, identifying new business opportunities, and managing client expectations.
Key responsibilities:
- Able to lead and sign off audit, review and compilations engagements (as outlined in quality control document).
- Is a specialist in a particular technical field and /or industry (SME or Industry Expert).
- Actively promotes and provides new service capabilities to clients / prospects.
- Understands the client’s culture and engages in active listening and questioning to determine needs, define issues, influence clients positively and develop solutions.
- Works with the shareholder team to identify, research and cultivate client targets and manages proposal initiatives.
- Mentors / Coaches managers, supervisors, and senior employees in area of specialty and provides on-the-job learning opportunities.
- Is able to identify key stakeholders in the decision-making process; develop strong relationships.
- Lead proposal development.
- Perform administrative functions such as billing, scheduling, and monitoring deadlines.
- Oversees the administration of engagement including initial budget, deviations from budget, scheduling adjustments, client obstacles, etc.
- Identify technical issues involving changes in client’s business or professional standards and regulations and then lead efforts to research and document resolution of the issue.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in assurance, a collaborative mindset, and the confidence to lead teams while delivering high‑quality work for clients.
Requires:
- Eight plus years' related experience and bachelor's degree (B.A.) in an accounting related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Advanced knowledge in Microsoft 365, Teammate, Suralink, and Pfx Engagement.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or other applicable certification(s) required.
- Maintain CPE requirements for all applicable licenses.
- Prolonged periods of working on a computer and ability to remain in a stationary position for extended periods (e.g., sitting at a desk).
- Ability to travel occasionally.
