A Typical Day in the Life:
As an assurance manager, you will lead the engagement planning process by determining appropriate staff, timing, risk assessment, and reliance on internal controls to formulate an engagement approach. Also, you will review workpapers and related deliverables to ensure that firm and professional standards are met; as well as oversee the engagement and workflow of all client deliverables for multiple clients and engagements, including audits, reviews and compilations.
Key responsibilities:
- Effectively review engagement documentation in accordance with professional standards.
- Advanced proficiency in the appropriate technical skills to perform risk assessment procedures, to perform appropriate audit procedures, to perform quality control assessment procedures and to analyze and conclude appropriately.
- Advanced proficiency in financial reporting requirements applicable to assigned areas including US GAAP, FRF for SMEs, Tax, Modified Cash basis.
- Advanced proficiency in technical skills related to US Generally Accepted Auditing Standards and Statements for Accounting and Review Services.
- Effective team leader on projects and assignments.
- Lead proposal development.
- Perform administrative functions such as billing, scheduling, and monitoring deadlines.
- Identify and lead pursuits to provide additional services for existing client base and prospective clients.
- Oversee the administration of engagement including initial budget, deviations from budget, scheduling adjustments, client obstacles, etc.
- Identify technical issues involving changes in client’s business or professional standards and regulations and then lead efforts to research and document resolution of the issue.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in assurance, a collaborative mindset, and the confidence to lead teams while delivering high‑quality work for clients.
Requires:
- Six to eight years' related experience and bachelor's degree (B.A.) in an accounting related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Advanced knowledge in Microsoft 365, Teammate, Suralink, and Pfx Engagement.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or other applicable certification(s) required.
- Maintain CPE requirements for all applicable licenses.
- Prolonged periods of working on a computer and ability to remain in a stationary position for extended periods (e.g., sitting at a desk).
- Ability to travel occasionally.
